Volunteer Sign-Up
Hello Cudas Families!
This is our club’s biggest fundraiser of the year and helps to keep our registration fees low. There are many jobs to cover and we need all “hands on deck” to make sure the event runs successfully. We depend on at least 85 volunteers during each day of the meet. Each family needs to complete 2 shifts during the event.
Note: We will not have to cover any timing shifts as this is our own swim meet.
If you’re new to the club and feel unsure of any of the jobs, fear not! There will be plenty of veterans around to help and you won’t have to miss your kid’s events if you’re signed up for a shift – there will always be someone around that can cover you while you run in to watch a race.
Sign-up for shifts at registration time and volunteer opportunities will be emailed out to members several weeks before the meet and will also be posted to the Sign-Up Centre page of this website.
Meet Volunteer Roles
- Meet Manager (organizers of the event)
- Poolset-up / Tear-down
- Office (Meet recorder, computer entry, results posting *, awards preparation)
- Meet Announcer
- DJ-Music *
- Bell Race Monitor/Winner Recorder *
- Officiating (Meet Referee, Colorado timing system, Clerk of the Course *, Marshals, runners)
- Deck Food (coordinator, food preparation, service) *
- Concession (coordinator, food preparation, service, sales)
- Fundraising (program sales, 50/50 sales, team gear sales) *
- Club canopy set up and tear down for team members
Volunteer position marked with a * denates that your your children can be with you at this job while you complete your shift.
Barracudas Grand Prix Donation Request
We are looking for companies in our community (big and small) to make cash or prize donations (accepted year-round) in support of our HOME MEET held in June. These donations contribute to different fundraising events such as raffles. The proceeds help offset some of the costs of operating the club, equipment needs and maintenance, training and travel expenses for coaches and the purchase of simple but important club identity products such as t-shirts and water bottles for our members.
These donations are also a advertising opportunities for companies. Companies making donations with values of $100 – $300 will be featured in the Barracudas Home Meeet Print Package. Donations of greater value will have your company signed displayed poolside throughout the event.
